Ok... life has been insane!!! I'm so sorry I haven't got on that much... it's just back to school and I'm going crazy! I don't know how much I'll be able to get on during the year... let's hope for the best. I don't even know how much I'll be posting tips. If you want to unsubscribe my site, I understand. I'm just under wayyy too much pressure.. and it's killing me.

Ok. Today I feel so much better. Woo hoo!

MY LITTLE PONYTAIL:

Some things are just better updated. Take the classic ponytail, for example. From twists to curls to braids, anything you do to spice up the old 'do will work. My faves? For straight hair: pull hair into low, loose ponytail. The last time you pull the elastic through, only pull it through halfway, so the ends are sticking out. Move the ends so they stick up. Looks especially good if you have highlights. For wavy hair: same thing, except leave some strands out at the front to frame your face. For curly hair: same thing, (with strands out at front), except high up. If you do it high enough, it will look like a fancy prom hairdo. if the "bun" part sticks out too much, pin it to your head with bobby pins. Check out the article on ponytails this month at seventeen.com.

I don't have tons of time, so I'll do an entry tomorrow.

Hey everybody. I know I have only been getting on every other day, but my life is getting really hectic (back to high school, new boyfriend, etc.). I'll do my best to get on every other day, but I can't promise every day. Anyways, I'm bummed too- I'm really tight for cash and I can't send in a new premium. So for about a week I will be non-premium. Poor me. I'm in a huge rush, so no tips today. I'm sorry! Hopefully the 12th's tips will keep you happy. I think it's that time of the month.

Sorry I wasn't on yesterday. I was at Six Flags all day (Superman is so awesome) and, let's just say, it's hard to get on your computer when you're 220 feet above the ground, traveling at 75 MPH. I was also with Casey, so that made it even harder. () Anyways, I have a good chunk of time today to give you plenty of tips, but today, I'm doing something different. In honor of the new season, (for some of us) classes starting, and MidTowN_BriTney, I'm going to give you the top 5 tricks of the season. So get ready!

THE TOP 5 TRICKS OF THE FALL '04 SEASON:

1. THE RETURN OF THE HAT:

Forget that ratty old black thing you wear to funerals. Meet the new and improved hats! (from designers like Chanel, Emilio Pucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Michael Kors, Miu Miu, Missoni, and Giorgio Armani) If you're more tomboy, try the newsboy caps from Chanel, or you can gear up for winter with a knit hat from Armani. So get yours today!

2. GO FOR NATURAL:

Makeup. Some of us are born with the gift. Others... they have to work at it. And this season, it's going to be so much easier for those "others"- everyone wants natural looking makeup. (to save you from over-doing it, just look at this picture) If you think I'm crazy, here's a secret: guys hate makeup.

3. DIRT BROWN = BORING:

So it's the end of summer, and every year you have to say goodbye to those beautiful summer colors- pretty pastels, bright yellows and oranges, baby pink, etc. I think not! Bright, banana yellow has been spotted on the runways of Chanel and Versace. Anna Sui has used every bright color we can think of. Zac Posen has become Mr. Pastel. Diane von Furstenberg created bright reds and dark pinks. Don't wave goodbye, wave hello.

4. STAY WARM:

Forget freezing in cold climates just to look good. Designers have made coats the center piece in their collections for this fall. And trust me, these won't be getting moth balls. The coat has been redone, this time with beautiful details like fur collars, gorgeous embroidery fit for a queen, and soft, soft cashmere. Doesn't that make you feel like starting a fire and singing Christmas carols? Fur was the most-used material, decorating coats everywhere and giving great detail. However, I prefer cashmere- it's so soft! (and less money)

5. GIVE THE IRON A REST:

No more flat ironing! No more curling! No more crimping! This season, going with the hair you were born with (and the color, save for highlights) is what it's all about. The most-favored style seems to be soft, natural waves (no crimps) with highlights only two shades lighter than your natural hair color (and NOT done at home... unless you're a hair stylist). Waves can be coaxed out of almost anyone's hair- except for (of course) chemically relaxed hair (in which case it's impossible) and women with kinky, super-curly hair (in which case you will have to use a very large barrel iron to relax the curls). And now there's an option for permanent waves- the wavy perm. Trust me, it looks really good. Maintenance? Keep your hair well-conditioned with a once-a-week to once-a-month (depending on the thickness and texture of your hair) deep conditioning treatment and solve frizz with a serum from John Frieda or Infusium 23 (drugstores).

I've been at this for an hour, so I think it's good. Enjoy!

Back from the vacation! (See Inside the Life of Pink Sin for details) Anyways, I'm in kinda a rush (Casey is bugging me to use the computer- so typical) so today you only get one tip. I'm sorry!! I promise tomorrow's entry will be super long!!

IN THE NEWS:

Armani is hot again. Simply put.

OUT OF THIS WORLD:

You know, with the stuff people are wearing this fall from designers like Stella McCartney, Narciso Rodriguez, and Jonathan Saunders, retro ideas of the fashions of the future might just be right (a.k.a. Back to the Future II). Space Age frocks are now becoming the newest (and weirdest) stuff on the runways. From metallic sweaters to some skirts that you might see on Darth Vader, everything is coming this fall. But don't take my word for it- try them for yourself (and at your own risk). Note: I think this is the first bad trend that I've listed on my Xanga- and, trust me, I've definately won't be wearing space rings. But hey, if you like the Star Wars costumes that Queen Amidala wore, this trend is for you.

That's all for now, folks!

Natalie
